Whirlwind of Excitement
May 31, 2011

Phew! The past few days have been non-stop on the go! Now that I finally have a moment to sit, Dressed to Dish deserves some attention ๐Ÿ™‚ Stephen’s Dad and sister Julia have finally arrived!! After days of counting down and numerous flight delays and cancellations, Stephen and I are thrilled with excitement to have company!

Brother and sister finally reunited!

Stephen and his dad at dinner ๐Ÿ™‚

The entire crew!

We have probably already packed a month’s worth of activities into the first 2 days they have been here…and still going strong ๐Ÿ™‚ Once again I will let the pictures do all the talking…as I could ramble on for days about our recent outings. Here’s a sneak peak of activities over the past few days!

~Trip to the Floating Market~

ย Monkeys and Tigers and Snakes oh my!

In between baht buses, bargain shopping, and surviving the heat, we have been enjoying our fair share of food! As much as I wish I could upload our amazing dishes…it’s dinner time once again! Hope you’re having a great week!

Chillin’ with the Birds
May 21, 2011

This past week at school, another teacher snapped this picture during one of her English lessons. The students really don’t need to daydream here, as they can just take a glance out the window and get distracted by their surroundings! After seeing this exotic bird numerous times, I hope I can get a closer pic next week at school!

Fast forward another day, and Stephen & I happened to meet another friendly bird on one of our daily walks ~ a talking parrot!

Another exciting part of our day? Starbucks was handing out free frappachinos! Why? We don’t ask questions when it comes to freebies.

The only thing more exciting than a free Starbucks Frappachino? We get to see some familiar faces next week! Stephen’s dad and sister are coming and we are SOO excited to hangout and enjoy some touristy things with family! After being away from home for 6 months now…next Friday will without a doubt, be reason to celebrate. Hope you’re having a great weekend ๐Ÿ™‚ Stay dressed to dish!

Catch Up!
May 17, 2011

Sorry for the week long delay ~ with feisty internet service, it’s hard to knock out a blog post. So that means it’s time to play catch up! Last week at school the Early Years put on an awesome Art Exhibition for parents, teachers, and fellow students. I was definitely one of their biggest fans, as they laughed at me snappin’ pics left and right…hey a girl’s gotta blog ๐Ÿ˜‰

The past week I have been on a bit of a health kick…why? Because I fall to temptation when a cake stares me in the face…which is pretty much every school day.

So every chance I get, I run down the closest fruit vendor…true story ๐Ÿ™‚

Just bought some fresh Pineapple and Cantalope...such a good deal!

Along with my fresh fruit, I’ve been munchin’ on veggie salads, cereal, and lots of water! The heat here is sometimes unbearable!

Stephen is not always on the same wave length as me when it comes to healthy eating…

But that’s okay…that just means I know I can sneak a small bite of whatever he’s having ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hope your week is off to a great start! Stay dressed to dish!

Photo Hunt ~ You know the deal!
May 10, 2011

Hi folks! It’s without a doubt been a Thai Tuesday for us. Well obviously every Tuesday is inevitably a Thai Tuesday, but tonight we tried a new local Thai restaurant. With just about a block away…this new restaurant may be seeing a lot more of us. Thankfully it was a cooler night so we chose to sit outside and enjoy our dinner.

For starters, we began with Thai Spring Rolls ~ a much healthier version than we’re used to seeing with lots of fresh veggies.

Stephen opted for Pan Fried Noodles & Chicken, while I ordered an Asparagus & Shrimp dish. Both were delicious and not to mention quite the bargain. After leaving with a 225 baht tab (about $7 bucks) that’s what I call a bargain baby!

Next up? PHOTO HUNT ๐Ÿ™‚ In other words, if you are a frequent visitor of the Touch Screen at various bars…then you know the deal. You know the game – and if you don’t, simply hunt for what’s different!

Got it? Over the weekend we passed by this “statue”. After giving it a double take – I realized something was definitely not right. Yep you got it! This man spray painted himself to appear as a statue and I gotta’ admit…it definitely was a clever way to grab a few tips! Although I knew ahead of time he was a “fake”, I still kept thinking he was going to step out of character and grab me while having a picture taken! The major difference? The statue is sipping out of his cup in the 2nd picture.

Alright off to catch an episode of Master Chef Australia! Enjoy your day!
