Craving Chocolate Lava!
April 7, 2011

The perfect after school treat - in moderation of course 🙂

I fell in love with this Molten Lava Chocolate Cupcake when I first bought it 2 weeks ago from vendors at school. Ever since then I have had a craving for another one. Today I decided to share the love and buy two – one for me and one for Stephen (he was lucky his cupcake made it home if you know what I mean). As soon as you bite into it, ooey gooey chocolate oozes out from the center – hence the “lava” – and heaven in my mouth.

Heaven in my mouth - admit it, you'd cheat on your diet for that 🙂

Last night we made spaghetti & meatballs. In my best italian accent, “These are some-a spicy a-meatballs!” Our meatballs consisted of garlic, onions, red chili, bread crumbs & a bit of water. With a sprinkle of Parmesan on top, our italian meatballs were a success.

Now from one dinner to the next! Tonight’s dinner I decided to whip up some pancakes after American Idol. I was excited for a breakfast dinner since my breakfast usually involves eating something quick on the go. Growing up my sisters and I loved putting sprinkles in our pancakes – crazy colorful and fun! So lucky for me we had sprinkles in our pantry. Stephen opted for chocolate chips, another favorite 🙂

Dressed to Dish!

Breakfast is ready! Pancakes & Scrambled Eggs

My black and white attire came together nicely with my new necklace. I bought it from school the other day and could not wait to wear it. Food Vendors I love but the next best thing? We had someone come in to sell jewelry, clothes & accessories on Tuesday…why don’t American schools do this?! Okay but back to the pancakes!

What a beautiful sight 🙂

Oh breakfast how I’ve missed you

Such a nice change to my quick peanut butter toast in the morning! But if I must be completely honest…I’m already looking forward to next week’s chocolate lava cupcake – it’s the little things in life 😉 Needless to say I think I’ve found my weakness in chocolate lava.

I’m curious what’s your food weakness? You know you have one – that food that you lose all willpower to when it confronts you…please share, or at least make me feel a lil better about my food weakness! 🙂

Under the Weather
April 1, 2011

It has been cloudy and overcast for a week. My fingers are crossed for a sunny weekend!

I am not used to this cloudy and cool weather in Thailand. Another thing I am not used to is: making only 2 blog posts in about 2 weeks! Sorry I have been slacking – with our Internet out one week, and feeling a bit under the weather this week…Dressed to Dish has been lagging behind. With most schools, there are always illnesses & colds roaming the halls…and I think I may have caught something, as I am feeling a bit under the weather this week. To boost my energy, I’ve been eating oatmeal practically every morning. Not only is it healthy & tasty with my sliced bananas & cinnamon, but it’s good for the immune system.

Aside from my healthy oatmeal, I’ve skipped my beloved caffeine this week – aka – COFFEE, and substituted it for warm hot chocolate at night. This will be a short post but I promise there will be more to come this weekend!

As for now I’m going to cozy up with some warm hot cocoa and get ready for American Idol 🙂

3 Years & Counting
March 6, 2011

Today is officially our 3 year Anniversary! Man how time flies. If someone had told me three years ago that I would not only be engaged but living & working in Thailand after college, I would have told them, “You are caraazyy!” But here I am 🙂 And I would not change a thing! To begin our celebration, we begin with breakfast, as all occasions should revolve around food 😉

Open Face Fried Egg Sandwich with Strawberry Jam...yum!

Good til the last bite!

In between running errands today, we ended up at the mall again…imagine that! There’s also a grocery store there so we picked up a few ingredients to cook a home-made Mac n’ Cheese for dinner. On a whim, we passed by the doors to the Hilton Hotel which sits above the 7 story mall. Out of curiosity, we decided to check it out. While wondering the halls we passed by the lobby elevators and I had to take a picture of the sparkles!

We ventured on and came to a restaurant that overlooked the beach. Upon seeing this view, we immediately decided to have a few anniversary cocktails to celebrate 🙂

We walked on stepping stones to get to our seat!

Cheers!

The view was absolutely gorgeous, the cocktails didn’t hurt either 🙂 Fast forward a few hours, and it was time for dinner! I made a Home-made Mac n’ cheese dish for the first time. We decided good ol’ comfort food and champagne would be a nice way to celebrate. Keepin’ it classy 😉

Colby & White Cheddar Cheeses along with Broccoli...so tasty!

I gotta say, I’m pretty proud of this dish – as it is the first time I had ever made a Home-made Mac n’ Cheese by myself. I’ll have the recipe up tomorrow! As for now, we’re enjoying another episode of Junior Master Chef Australia, we love it! These kids cook the most amazing dishes…I’m just glad I’m not competing with them! For those of you just now waking up back home, hope you have a great Sunday, stay dressed to dish 🙂

Dressed to Dish Project
March 1, 2011

I’m currently watching the movie, Julie & Julia. I’ve seen this movie a few times before, but I think this is the first time I have paid such close attention to every little detail about this movie. Why? Well like Amy Adam’s character – Julie, I too am now a blogger…which makes me much more inclined to obsess over her every move in the movie. No, I am not going to cook my way through every recipe of Julia’s cookbook – “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”. But I’ve realized that I too want a project that I can share on Dressed to Dish. I have literally been thinking about a project idea for a while, and today I think I’ve finally come to a conclusion. Obviously some aspects of food will be involved, but there are many other aspects I wanted to incorporate with this project. What might you ask will be incorporated? Food, fashion, meeting new people, stepping out of my comfort zone, & documenting my weekly finds.

D2D Project Rules:

  • Walk up to a random stranger each week whom I think is dressed in style. Take a picture (with their permission).
  • Quick interview! Ask them their favorite food, style icon, and exercise.
  • My job? Post their picture and answers…and try my best to recreate their favorite food in their honor.

This may sound easy, but I am not one to walk up to someone and randomly strike up a conversation with a total stranger, let alone ask for a photograph. I am so excited to take on this project and find some REAL PEOPLE on the street with a great sense of style. Not only am I excited to meet some “dressed to dish” people, but I am thrilled to try out their favorite dishes in my kitchen. Project starts? Today! I hope to have a weekly post so stay tuned & wish me luck!

Dinner tonight? We enjoyed a tasty breakfast dinner tonight 🙂

Our breakfast dinner was delicious and I’m so glad I was able to sit down to breakfast. Before work I’m usually finishing breakfast on the go.

And as for my Best Dressed List from the Oscars? I saw lots of gorgeous dresses & ensembles, but have decided to show a pic of my favorite 🙂

LOVE her lavendar lace dress!

Her make-up, wavy updo, & sparkly earrings pull everything together!

Alright friends, hope you have a wonderful day! Stay Dressed to Dish! Thoughts on my upcoming D2D Project? 🙂
