Let’s Talk Thai

Okay not literally, although we’ve certainly learned some basic Thai phrases that come in handy. I wanted to share with you some of the sights we see on a daily basis. Going into our 5th month now, I am now used to seeing things I would not normally see back home. Several months ago I was giving double takes and having mini photo shoots like it was nobody’s business – in other words I looked like a complete fool tourist. I was so in awe/shock of some of the things I saw, it was as if I had left planet earth (in my world). But now it’s like second nature to see these things.

To give you some idea, here are just a few things we see everyday.

One of the many temples in Pattaya.

We passed this temple on our walk into town today. I got a better shot of it today and wanted to share it. Anyone can go into a temple to pray and give respect, removing your shoes beforehand is a must.

Thai Monk

Thai monks are very well respected in Thailand, wearing gold robes. This monk was standing in front of the temple we passed today, so I snapped a quick pic!

Fish Vendor/Market

We passed these gigantic fish today and we were in shock of how HUGE some were. Seeing them in this state definitely does not have my stomach growling.

My lunch today!

This Thai dish was delicious. It was flavored with coconut and other seasonings. I was intrigued by the pink noodles so I had to try it!

Spicy Minced Pork with a Fried Egg

Stephen ordered his favorite Thai Dish – Spicy Minced Pork. This dish came with a fried egg on top and was delicious!

That’s been our day thus far! For now, we’re going to experiment in the kitchen and try to come up with our own Thai Dish πŸ™‚ Have a good weekend!
